Submit vectors to Adobe Stock

Last updated on Jun 11, 2026

Learn how to submit vectors to Adobe Stock using the Contributor Portal. Upload vectors, add metadata, include required releases, and submit your content for moderation.

The vector submission process includes uploading files, entering metadata, and submitting for moderation. If your vectors contain recognizable elements, get the required property or model releases, and you can submit vectors correctly to improve your acceptance rate and help customers discover your content. Vectors can be uploaded via drag-and-drop, or qualified accounts users can also submit vectors via SFTP if preferred.

Pre-submission review

Before uploading vectors to Adobe Stock:

  • View your file in outline mode to ensure your gradients remain intact and there are no raster images.
  • Zoom in to 100% or closer and look around the vector to ensure it doesn't include any stray anchor points or poorly joined lines.
  • Submit release forms for any reference work used or identifiable people or property, even if the recognizable person is you or the property is yours.
  • Tag single icons and icon sheets appropriately, following the icon submission guidelines

Submit vectors

Follow these steps to upload and submit your vector assets to Adobe Stock.

Sign in to the Contributor Portal.

In the top panel, select Upload

The highlighted Upload button, available at the upper-right corner of the screen, allows you to upload your file to Adobe Stock.
You can upload a variety of content to Adobe Stock.

Select Browse, and choose the vector you want to upload, or drag and drop it into the Portal.

The Browse button, available near the upload icon on the screen, allows you to browse the files on your computer to upload your content to Adobe Stock.
You can also drag and drop your file to the browser window.

In the New tab, Adobe will automatically generate a JPEG preview to match your vector.

Preview JPEG helps verify how your vector will appear once submitted.

Specify the required metadata:

  • Category: Choose the category that best describes the subject of the content.
  • Title: Describe what’s happening in the content in a few words.
  • Keywords: Add 5-50 keywords that are relevant and true to your content. Start with the most important ones, as they help determine search ranking. Use Adobe Stock’s AI keyword suggestions to save time and improve discoverability.

Review your submission to confirm visual quality, file format, and metadata accuracy.

If your vector includes recognizable people or private property, attach the required model or property releases. Upload files or collect digital signatures using Adobe Acrobat Sign.

Once metadata entry and required releases are complete, select Submit to share the vector(s) for moderation.

The moderation team reviews submissions for quality, legal compliance, and technical standards. Approved content appears in Adobe Stock search results and becomes available for customer licensing. Track the submission status, manage your portfolio, and view earnings in the Contributor Dashboard within the Contributor Portal.

Upload vectors via SFTP

Qualified accounts can use SFTP to upload additional file types, especially for handling large volumes of content through dedicated file transfer applications that bypass browser limitations.

To access SFTP details in the Contributor Portal, select Upload, then choose Learn More to find the server information and personal login credentials.

SFTP is recommended for uploading large vector files or multiple files at once, ensuring faster and more reliable transfers than browser uploads.

Install any SFTP client, such as FileZilla.

Tip

Your existing FTP client can be used by switching the connection type to SFTP. The port can be left blank or set to "22" if required. If using a third-party tool such as Stocksubmitter, update the credentials there as well. If switching to SFTP does not work, install a dedicated SFTP client.

Enter your credentials (hostname and ID), then select Generate password.

The generated password applies to all SFTP uploads (including vector files) and can be reused for future transfers. Keep this password secure and use it with your SFTP client to upload files.

Transfer files by uploading them as standalone files.

Note

Files uploaded within folders or archives are not supported. Use the re-upload option to upload files again if needed.
