Edit videos for submission

Learn about video editing best practices for Adobe Stock, including post‑production guidelines that help prepare videos for successful submission and licensing.

Effective editing can elevate videos into standout content. Before uploading, Contributors should review each submission with a critical eye and make the necessary adjustments to ensure the video is polished, professional, and ready for licensing.

Best practices to edit videos

Adhere to the following editing standards before finalizing the video for upload, especially when applying color corrections, sharpening, or effects that might introduce artifacts or reduce commercial appeal.

  • Trim videos: Remove unnecessary seconds at the beginning and end to ensure the content starts with intention.
  • Keep it natural: Avoid transitions, titles, or effects. Customers prefer clean videos that they can customize to their unique needs.
  • Use color correction thoughtfully: Ensure that videos have the correct white balance and exposure, and maintain consistent color grading across frames. Avoid heavy grading or cinematic LUTs unless they accurately reflect the scenes filmed.
  • Stabilize the videos: Use editing tools or in-camera stabilization to reduce or eliminate shakiness, especially in handheld footage or high-motion shots.
  • Avoid audio: Adobe does not accept videos with audio. Remove any embedded audio, such as ambient noise, dialogue, or soundtracks, before uploading.
