Learn how to upload, prepare, and submit videos to Adobe Stock.
Video content is licensed for use across advertising, film production, and social media projects. Before submission, confirm that videos meet technical requirements. Videos featuring identifiable people or private property require the appropriate model or property releases. Videos can be uploaded via drag-and-drop, or qualified accounts users can also submit videos via SFTP if preferred.
Pre-submission review
Before uploading videos to Adobe Stock:
- Ensure your video is correctly formatted and free of technical flaws.
- You’ve removed any redundant content, noise, and audio.
- Ensure your metadata is accurate and relevant to the video.
- Organize any required model or property releases to upload with your video.
In the top panel, select Upload.
Upload the video by dragging and dropping it into the Portal, or select Browse to locate it on your device.
In the New tab, Adobe Stock generates a preview of your video.
Enter clear, relevant, and specific metadata to make the video searchable on Adobe Stock.
- Title: Add a short description of the video content.
- Keywords: Add 5–50 relevant, accurate keywords for the video. Start with the most important keywords, as they help determine search ranking. You can also apply Adobe Stock’s AI keyword suggestions to save time and improve discoverability.
- Category: Choose the category that best describes the subject of the video.

Review your submission to confirm visual quality, file format, and metadata accuracy.
If the video includes recognizable people, attach the required model releases. If it includes private property, artwork, or distinctive objects, a property release may be required. Upload releases directly from a computer or use Adobe Acrobat Sign to collect digital signatures within the Contributor Portal.
After completing metadata and uploading releases, select Save work.
Once metadata entry and required releases are complete, select Submit to share the video for review.
The moderation team reviews submissions for quality, legal compliance, and technical standards. Approved content appears in Adobe Stock search results and becomes available for customer licensing. Track the submission status, manage your portfolio, and view earnings in the Contributor Dashboard within the Contributor Portal.
To access SFTP details in the Contributor Portal, select Upload, then choose Learn More to find the server information and personal login credentials.
Install any SFTP client, such as FileZilla.
Your existing FTP client can be used by switching the connection type to SFTP. The port can be left blank or set to "22" if required. If using a third-party tool such as Stocksubmitter, update the credentials there as well. If switching to SFTP does not work, install a dedicated SFTP client.
Enter your credentials (hostname and ID), then select Generate password.
Log in to the SFTP client using the new password; all other credentials remain unchanged.
Transfer files by uploading them as standalone files.
Files uploaded within folders or archives are not supported. Use the re-upload option to upload files again if needed.
