Unable to send media from Firefly to Premiere

Last updated on Nov 19, 2025

Learn how to resolve issues where media sent from Firefly on the web fails to open in Adobe Premiere.

In some cases, sending media from Firefly on the web to Premiere on the desktop may fail, even if both the Creative Cloud desktop app and the latest version of Premiere are installed correctly. When the issue occurs, the page that initiates the handoff will download an installer program instead of opening the Creative Cloud desktop app to import the asset in Premiere.

Browser blocking local network access

In your browser, look for the pop-up asking whether the Adobe website can connect to devices on your local network.

Select Allow to let Firefly on the web to connect to the Creative Cloud desktop app for asset transfer.

If you previously selected Block, open your browser’s Site settings for the Adobe website.

Find the permission that controls local network access or device access and switch it back to Allow.

Reload the page in your browser to restart the connection and try sending the media again.

DNS rebind protection interrupts the Firefly transfer

Open your internet router’s settings and locate the option for DNS rebind protection or a similar security feature.

Add the following domain to the router’s allow list as described in the device’s manual:

detect.ffc.adobeoobe.com.

Save your changes and restart the router if required.

Try sending media again from Firefly on the web to Premiere.

If you are on an enterprise or managed network, ask your network administrator to review Adobe’s full allow-list of required domains and ensure they are permitted.
