Learn how to add frame-specific comments during video reviews in shared projects.

Note

This article shows resources related to the Review with Frame.io (Legacy) panel for Premiere. If you’re using Frame.io Version 4 (V4), please note:

  • Frame.io V4 accounts are not compatible with this panel.
  • To use the new Frame.io V4 panel in Premiere 25.6 or later, go to Window > Frame.io > Frame.io V4. Learn more via this support article.
  • For users of Premiere v25.6 and later looking to use the Frame.io (Legacy) panel, the extension can now be found under Window > Frame.io > Frame.io (Legacy).

Reviewers can comment on specific video frames using the text field below the composition window. These comments appear in real time on the timeline. Reviewers can customize comments using annotation tools such as font color, shapes, or highlights before posting.

Before you begin

Open the Frame.io panel by selecting Window Review with Frame.io and ensure you have the shared project or file in the Frame.io panel.

Double-click the shared project to open the player in the Frame.io panel.

Play and pause on the frame where you want to add a comment.

In the comment field, type your comment and select Send.

The Frame.io review interface displays a video paused at the 38-second mark. A reviewer has added a time-stamped comment: Can you speed up this frame? Annotation tools, such as drawing, text, shapes, and color options, are displayed above the comment box, allowing reviewers to visually mark up frames for clear feedback.
Play the shared video, scrub through it, and pause to add review comments and annotations for the editors.

Collaborators can select Show comments in the Frame.io panel to view all reviewer feedback. These comments are timestamped, and you can post replies, delete them, and mark them as complete. Use the annotation options with different colors to make the review comments more effective and comprehensive.

Tip

Navigating the Timeline panel using the review comments is simple. Selecting a comment automatically takes you to the exact video frame where the comment was added.
