Snap clips

Last updated on Apr 1, 2026

Learn to activate snapping in Adobe Premiere, allowing clips to align automatically with other clips, markers, or the playhead as you move them.

At the top-left of the Timeline panel, make sure the Snap in Timeline (S) icon is turned on (highlighted).

Drag the edge of a clip close to the edge of another clip or marker, or the playhead.

When the clip is close enough, it will automatically snap into alignment, and a vertical line will appear to indicate the adjusted alignment.
