Last updated on Jun 17, 2026

Learn how to send images and videos from Adobe Firefly Boards directly into Adobe Premiere on desktop for editing.

Firefly Boards lets you explore early ideas, craft moodboards, develop storyboards, or create pitch materials. When you’re ready to move from ideation to production, you can send supported images and videos directly into Premiere, where they open as editable assets in your project.

Create a new project or open an exisiting one in Firefly Boards.

Select one or more supported assets:

  • A single image or video.
  • Multiple images.
  • Multiple videos.
  • Any combination of images and videos.

Do one of the following:

  • Right-click the selected assets and choose Open in Premiere desktop, or
  • Select Open in Premiere desktop from the More   options menu.
Context menu for the selected file in Firefly Boards is open with the Open in Premiere desktop option highlighted.
Move selected images or videos from Firefly Boards into Premiere for further editing.

Premiere launches (if not already open) and imports the selected assets:

  • If a project is already open, the assets are imported into the Project panel > Firefly Downloads bin.
  • If no project is open, Premiere creates a new Untitled project and imports the assets into the Project panel.
Tip

By default, imported assets are downloaded to My Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 26.x > Cloud Media. You can change this location in Premiere by going to Preferences > Cloud Media Downloads and setting a custom folder for Firefly downloads.

Automatic sequence creation

When you send media from Adobe Firefly Boards, Premiere can automatically create a sequence using the selected assets in the same order as your selection in Boards. This helps you quickly start editing without manually arranging clips on the timeline.

Open Premiere and select Preferences > Cloud Media Downloads.

Enable Create a sequence when importing multiple assets.

Cloud Media Downloads preferences in Premiere with the Create a sequence when importing multiple assets checkbox enabled.
Enable "Create a sequence when importing multiple assets" when sending media from Firefly Boards to Premiere to automatically create a sequence.

Note

When disabled, Premiere imports the selected media into the Firefly Downloads bin without creating a sequence.
