Save or delete metadata sets

Last updated on Apr 1, 2026

Learn to create and manage custom metadata display configurations for different workflows in Adobe Premiere.

Custom metadata sets let you optimize the Metadata panel for different projects. For example, you might create one set that displays only fields needed for social media content and another for broadcast deliverables. Each saved set remembers which schemas and properties you've chosen to display, letting you switch between configurations without manually adjusting the panel each time.

These saved configurations persist across sessions and can be shared with your team. Before creating custom sets, ensure you understand which metadata properties your workflow requires by reviewing the available schemas in the Metadata Display dialog box.

Save a custom metadata set

In the Metadata panel, select the panel menu icon, then Metadata Display.

Customize which schemas and properties appear by selecting or deselecting them from the list.

Select Save Settings at the bottom of the dialog box.

The Metadata Display dialog box shows the Save Settings button that can be used to save a custom metadata set.
Use Save Settings in the Metadata Display dialog to save a custom metadata set.

Enter a descriptive name for your metadata set and select OK.

Your custom set now appears in the Metadata Display menu and can be activated at any time. The saved configuration includes all schema visibility settings and individual property selections you made.

Delete a metadata set

From the Metadata panel options menu, select Metadata Display.

Select the metadata set you want to remove from the menu at the top of the dialog box.

Select Delete Settings at the bottom of the dialog box.

Note

Deleting a metadata set only removes the saved display configuration. Your actual metadata remains intact in all source files and clips.
