Share assets between After Effects and Premiere using Dynamic Link

LEarn to use Dynamic Link to integrate After Effects compositions directly into your Adobe Premiere timeline without rendering.

Dynamic Link creates live connections between Premiere and After Effects, allowing you to work with After Effects compositions directly in your timeline. Changes made in After Effects appear automatically in Premiere without exporting or rendering intermediate files.

Alert

Dynamic Link requires matching major version numbers between Premiere and After Effects.

Link to an existing After Effects composition

Select File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition.

Navigate to your After Effects project file (.aep) and select Open.

In the Import Composition dialog, select one or more compositions from the list.

Select OK to add the linked compositions to your Project panel.

The linked composition appears in your Project panel with a distinctive icon. Drag it to your timeline like any other asset.

Tip

You can link to the same After Effects composition multiple times within a single project, allowing you to use it across different sequences.
