Reveal a clip in a nested source sequence

Last updated on Apr 2, 2026

Learn how to find and edit a clip within a nested sequence in Adobe Premiere, ensuring updates are applied consistently across all instances.

Go to the Timeline panel.

Target the track containing the nested sequence by clicking its header. If more than one track is targeted, Premiere uses the top one.

Position the playhead on the frame of the nested sequence that you want to reveal.

Press Ctrl + Shift + F (Windows) or Shift + T (macOS) to open the source sequence in the Timeline panel with the playhead positioned at the specified frame.

Double-click the clip at the playhead location to open it in the Source Monitor for editing.

The source sequence now appears in the Timeline panel, and the clip is loaded in the Source Monitor where you can make your edits. Any changes you make to the source clip will automatically update in all instances where that nested sequence appears.
