Export video and audio files

Learn how to export a finished sequence or audio file from Adobe Premiere to create delivery-ready video and audio files.

Select the timeline or source clip you want to export.

Select File > Export > Media.

In Settings, select the appropriate Format, such as H.264 for MP4 or QuickTime for MOV, and choose a Preset like Match Source – Adaptive High Bitrate.

Use the Export mode to set the format, preset, and output location before finalizing your video or audio file.

Under the Video tab, confirm Frame Size, Frame Rate, Field Order, and Aspect.

Under Audio, confirm channel layout, sample rate, and bit rate, adjust as needed for delivery requirements (stereo or multichannel, 48 kHz, appropriate kbps).

Select Export to render immediately from Premiere, or select Send to Adobe Media Encoder and render in the background (recommended for longer jobs or when you want to continue working). Or monitor and manage queued jobs in Media Encoder.
