Track trimming actions in the History panel

Last updated on Apr 1, 2026

Learn how Premiere tracks trimming actions in the History panel so you can undo or redo edits.

The History panel in Premiere records each trimming adjustment you make, whether you use keyboard shortcuts like J-K-L, click buttons, or use tools. This allows you to easily undo or redo changes during editing, without affecting your editing session when entering or exiting Trim mode.

The History panel logs every trim adjustment as a separate entry. This includes actions made with keyboard shortcuts, tools, or buttons.

Entering or exiting Trim mode doesn’t create new entries in the History panel, so you can undo or redo individual trim changes from any Trim mode session without affecting other edits.
