Learn how to resolve Acrobat crashes when using the Fill & Sign tool.
Problem description
Adobe Acrobat crashes or becomes unresponsive when you select the Fill & Sign tool, Request e-signature tool, or the e-signature icon in a PDF document. No error message is displayed. Corrupted e-signature files may cause the issue.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, try deleting the following e-signature files:
Windows
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initials
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsi
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsk
macOS
- ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/DC/Security/acrobat_fss_signature_initials
- ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/DC/Security/acrobat_fss_signature_initialsi
- ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/DC/Security/acrobat_fss_signature_initialsk
