Generate new designs using Style IDs

Last updated on Mar 11, 2026

Learn how to generate new brand-consistent designs with text prompts using Style IDs in Firefly Design Intelligence.

Note

Firefly Design Intelligence is currently a limited-time release.

Style IDs contain a representation of a designer's layout and aesthetic choices for a campaign, ensuring that generated content aligns with your enterprise design standards. Once your organization's Style IDs are created, trained, and published, you can use them to generate new designs.

To generate new designs, you need to have access to published Style IDs in your organization. Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Adobe Illustrator with Firefly Design Intelligence enabled as a select enterprise offering.
  • Access to published Style IDs in your organization as tokens shared over email or other channels by your enterprise administrator.
  • One or more artboards placed on your canvas.

Generate designs using text prompts

Go to the Style ID panel in Illustrator.

Select your organization name in the Profile menu to view available Style IDs.

Select the Style ID you want to use from the list of published options under the Style ID library.

Note

If you cannot view a published Style ID, you may be missing access. Contact your admin to resolve this issue.

In the Style ID panel, enter a text prompt in the Generate text box that describes the content you want to create.

Style ID panel shows the Generator mode with a Prompt box to enter a prompt description and a Generate button.
Enter a prompt describing the asset requirement or simply select Generate to create new assets.

Tip

Write clear, concise prompts that focus on the content you want to generate. The tone, voice, and formatting of the output will be shaped by the StyleID, which applies the stylistic rules and brand guidelines defined during its training.

Select Generate to create multiple design variations.

Firefly Design Intelligence creates multiple variations for each artboard, all adhering to your organization's brand standards defined in the Style ID.

Customize generated designs

Once generated, select a design or asset to access the Modify tab.

Go to the Assets section and select the asset type you want to modify, such as images, taglines, logos, or other design elements.

Once you’ve made the edits to the selected elements, use the Apply to dropdown menu to:

  • Select Specific selection to update only the current design.
  • Select Matching assets to apply changes across all similar assets in all the designs.

Use the Quick actions section to maintain design consistency and brand standards while adjusting to new artboard dimensions. Choose from the following options:

  • Refresh: To change the aspect ratios of artboards and adapt the design to them.
  • Clone: To update the artboard dimensions, duplicate a design across multiple artboards.
  • Resize: To automatically adjust designs to match new artboard dimensions.
Note

Quick actions preserve element relationships and brand standards while adapting to new dimensions.
