In the left navigation, select Files and then open the tab you want to search.
Use natural language to find images and files in Adobe Firefly without needing exact filenames.
When you need a specific asset but cannot remember its filename, semantic search helps you find it quickly and easily. You can use the Search feature on the Files page to describe visual content in natural language, and Firefly will surface matches across your generation history, assets, and projects. You can start a search from the following tabs under Files:
- Generation history
- Projects
- Your files
- Shared with you
Search for an asset
You can choose from the Generation history, Your files, Projects, and Shared with you tabs.
Select the Search field in the top-right corner of the content area.
Type a description of the assets you want to find. For example, type a word like “dog” or a phrase like “blue sky, open field.”
Choose your search scope in the dropdown that appears, or use keyboard shortcuts:
- To search the current tab only, select Search current location or press Enter.
- To search across all locations in Files, select Search everywhere or press Shift + Enter.
Firefly displays a Search results for “[your query]” page with assets that visually match your description or contain your query in their file name. Filter options above the results show which location was searched and which file type filter is applied, if any.
Use defining words to describe the files/assets you need, as each result is ranked based on how well it matches your search, using information from file names, metadata, and the content itself. The search function also consider related concepts, similar terms, and common spelling mistakes to help surface the most relevant results first.
Refine your results
To adjust the results you see, use the type dropdown and select a file type. You can also change the location filter at any time to search a different tab without retyping your query.
Semantic search is available in English and currently understands Firefly image generations, Firefly Boards, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign documents, as well as generic images and vectors. For other content types and languages, you can still search by file name. Additional content types and languages may be supported in future releases.
