Learn how to tag layouts with platform identifiers to control which designs appear during content generation.
Channels act as filters, ensuring the right layouts appear in the right platforms during generation. You can use channels to organize layouts by platform type, such as social media, digital advertising, or print. By tagging layouts with channels, you help the system select designs suited to each platform and avoid mismatches, such as showing a vertical story layout in billboard options.
This procedure applies to users with Trainer access in Firefly Design Intelligence. During generation, only layouts tagged with the selected channel will be available.
Add channels to layouts
Select one or more layouts you want to tag.
In the channel input area, type or select a channel name to add it to the selected layouts.
When you select multiple layouts simultaneously, the interface displays which channels are shared across all selected layouts and which appear on only some of them. This helps you quickly identify channel assignments across your layout library.
Remove channels from layouts
Navigate to the Layouts tab and select the layouts containing channels you want to remove.
Locate the channel tag you want to remove.
Select the delete button on the channel tag to remove it from the layout.
A single layout can have multiple channels assigned, for example, a versatile design might be tagged with both "Social Media" and "Digital" if it works well in both contexts. When you reflow a layout to create new size or orientation variants, channels automatically copy to the new versions, maintaining consistent market categorization across your design system.
