Issue: Premiere Pro CC 2015 freezes when dragging a clip to the timeline

This issue affects Windows users of Premiere Pro CC 2015.1 and Premiere Pro CC 2015.1 (9.1 and 9.2).

  1. When dragging a clip to the timeline, Premiere Pro freezes.
  2. A Force Quit is required to work with the application once more.

Solution 1: update to Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 (10.3)

The issue can be resolved by updating the application to Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 (10.3).

Solution 2: remove In and Out marks before dragging clips to the timeline

If you cannot presently update to Premiere Pro CC 2015.3, you can work around the issue by removing In and Out marks before dragging the clip into the timeline.

This problem is a known issue with Premiere Pro CC 2015.1 and Premiere Pro CC 2015.2. It occurs when the source clip has a longer duration than set In and Out marks in the timeline.

A fix is being worked on for the upcoming version of Premiere Pro. If you are experiencing this issue, file a bug.
