Learn how system administrators can enable and assign Shared Credits so users can continue using Firefly‑powered features after their individual monthly generative credits run out.

Get started by reviewing the product profiles in your Adobe Admin Console to confirm which individuals or groups should have access to Shared Credits.

About Shared Credits

Shared Credits (formerly Generative Credit Pool) provide access to organization-level Operations that support continued use of Firefly-powered features after users exhaust their individual monthly generative credits.

Users consume their individual monthly generative credits first. After these credits are exhausted, eligible Firefly-powered actions automatically use the organization’s Operations for assigned users.

Note

Shared Credits don’t pool or redistribute individual monthly generative credits. They only enable fallback from generative credits to organization‑level Operations when individual monthly generative credits run out.

At the start of each month, individual generative credits reset and are consumed first again. If they are exhausted, eligible usage automatically switches to Operations until the next monthly reset.

View your Shared Credit rate card

To view the conversion rate for Operations to generative credits, refer to the rate card for your specific offer.

  1. Go to the Products section in the Admin Console.

  2. Select Firefly Services or Firefly Creative Production.

  3. Select Details.

  4. Select View Rate Card to open the latest conversion values.

Benefits of Shared Credits

  • Prevents user disruption by extending access to premium generative features after individual monthly generative credits run out.
  • Gives admins control over access by assigning individuals or groups through product profiles in the Admin Console.
  • Balances usage by drawing from a single, organization‑level Operations pool.

Eligibility

As a system admin, you can assign and manage Shared Credits only if your organization has an Enterprise term license agreement (ETLA) and includes:

  • Firefly Services or Firefly Creative Production, and
  • Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 or Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 with Premium Stock

How to assign users to Shared Credits

Assigned users can continue using premium generative features after their monthly generative credits run out by drawing from the organization‑level Operations pool.

Enable Shared Credits for a product profile

  1. Go to the Products section in the Admin Console.

  2. Select Firefly Services or Firefly Creative Production.

  3. Create a new product profile or open an existing one.

    • New profile: Select New profile, enter details, and optionally enable Notification to email added/removed users.
    • Existing profile: Select the profile and choose Details.
  4. Select Next.

  5. Under Enable services, check the generative credits toggle.

    • If it shows Convert to Generative Credits, turn it on to enable Shared Credits.

    • If it shows Disable Conversion to Generative Credits, ensure it's off to keep Shared Credits active.

  6. Select Save.

Add users manually

To enable users with access to Shared Credits, you must add them to product profiles for both:

  • Firefly Services or Firefly Creative production, and
  • Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4, or Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 with Premium Stock
  1. Select a product profile with Shared Credits enabled.

  2. Select Add users to add users or user groups.

  3. Assign the same users and user groups to Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4, or Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 with Premium Stock.

From the Products page in the Admin Console, select a product and profile, then select Add users to add users or groups.

To add multiple users, you can use any of the following methods:

Allow users to self-serve

Assign users to Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 or Creative Cloud for enterprise - Edition 4 with Premium Stock. This lets users request access to additional generative credits when made available by an admin.

You can automate Shared Credit access by setting up automatic assignment rules. These rules allow eligible users to receive Shared Credits automatically when they request access. Learn more about automatic assignment rules.

To set up an automatic assignment rule for Shared Credits:

  1. Go to Automatic assignment rules in the Adobe Admin Console.

  2. Select Add product and choose Firefly Services or Firefly Creative Production.

  3. Select a product profile with Shared Credits enabled.

If no existing product profile has Shared Credits enabled, learn how to enable Shared Credits in a new or existing profile.

Once the rule is set up, users who exhaust their monthly credits can request access and receive Shared Credits automatically, as configured.

If more granular control is preferred, you can use product requests instead of setting up automatic assignment rules. Product requests are on by default.

To verify this setting, go to Product requests in the Adobe Admin Console, and check the status. To update it, select Edit settings.

Adobe Admin Console showing the Product requests page with Product requests set to Enabled and zero pending requests.
Ensure that Product requests are enabled.

System administrators can review requests and approve or deny them as needed.

  1. Go to Product requests in the Adobe Admin Console.

  2. The list displays product requests received in the last 60 days, after which the requests automatically expire and are removed from the list.

  3. Select Review to review the product request and the business reason entered by the user.

  4. Under Product assigned, select Firefly Creative Production or Firefly Services, then choose a product profile with Shared Credits enabled.

If no product profile has Shared Credits enabled, select Edit product profile to create or modify one.

  5. Select Approve.

The user receives an email confirming approval and can begin using Shared Credits. Learn more about managing product requests.

Common questions

In the Admin Console, assign users or user groups to a product profile within the Firefly Services or Firefly Creative Production offer, with Shared Credits enabled.

Once their individual monthly generative credits are exhausted, only users assigned to such product profiles can draw from the Shared Credits.

Shared Credits usage follows the contractual true‑up model for Firefly Services and Firefly Creative Production. If consumption exceeds the available Operations, additional usage is billed according to the org’s ETLA terms.

Yes. You can control access to Shared Credits at by adding or removing individuals or user groups from the relevant product profile at any time.
