Learn how to create image variations with a more illustrative or realistic appearance.

Try it in the app
Create images from a text description in a few simple steps.

When you use a prompt in the Text to image feature to generate image variations, Firefly will automatically determine the most suitable content type. However, you can choose between Photo or Art to explore more illustrative or realistic variations.

Content type: Art

An example of an Art content type in Firefly shows a small wooden cabin sitting by a misty lake at sunrise or sunset, surrounded by trees and forested mountains.

Prompt:  A serene mountain landscape at sunrise, with mist over the hills, a calm lake, tall pine trees, and a cozy cabin with smoke rising from the chimney.

Content type: Photo

An example of Photo content type in Firefly that shows a small cabin with a blue roof sits among trees by a misty lake at sunrise or sunset, with rolling hills in the background.

Prompt:  A serene mountain landscape at sunrise, with mist over the hills, a calm lake, tall pine trees, and a cozy cabin with smoke rising from the chimney.

  1. On the Adobe Firefly website, select Text to image.

  2. Enter a text prompt and select Generate.

  3. In the Content type section, select Photo or Art.

    Tip:

Turn on the Auto mode to have Firefly automatically select a content type for you and predict the proper photo settings.

  4. Selecting Photo as the Content type enables manual camera controls under Photo settings. Adjust the following sliders:

    Aperture

Lets you control the background blur in your image by setting a specific f-stop.

    Shutter

Gives you control over the sharpness of your image.

    Field of view

Allows you to use a specific camera lens in your generation.

The Photo settings under the Content type section is open. The setting is set to Auto and the auto-configured parameters are listed under it. The Photo settings include Aperture, Shutter speed, and Field of view.
The Auto option in the Photo settings automatically adjusts the optimal settings for any photo you generate.

  5. Select Generate.
