Learn how to use the Generative upscale tool to enhance images within the Edit tab.

Upscale generated or uploaded images with Adobe and partner models directly in the Edit tab. Use the image upscaling option to improve the resolution and quality of generated or uploaded images, delivering professional-grade results for your creative projects.

Generate an image and go to the Edit tab, or upload an image and select Generative upscale from the left toolbar.

Select a preferred model from the model dropdown:

  • Firefly Upscaler
  • Topaz Bloom
  • Topaz Gigapixel
The Edit screen on Firefly displays a toolbar on the left-side with several icons denoting the quick edit functions available.
Select the image upscaling model according to your specific needs.

From the Scale menu, select 2x or 4x to define how much you want the image to be scaled.

Firefly Upscaler screen displays model selection, scale options, face recovery toggle, and expected image dimensions.
Check the expected width and height of your image before starting the upscaling process.

Tip
  • If you are using the Topaz Bloom model, you can adjust the creativity level of the upscaled image. Move the Creativity slider to the left to stay closer to the original image style, or move it to the right to introduce more detail and enhance creative elements during generation.
  • If you are using the Topaz Gigapixel model, you can select Face recovery to preserve face details and expressions in blurry or low-resolution faces.

To start fresh, select the reset option   to erase all set upscale settings.

Select Upscale to generate the upscaled image.

Note

Credit consumption varies by model. To see how many generative credits each generation will use, hover the credit consumption indicator next to the Upscale button.
