Find, move, and delete markers

Learn how to find markers, move them from their original locations, or delete them altogether in Adobe Premiere.

Find markers through the Search panel

You can search for markers in your project to quickly locate specific moments in your media using marker metadata such as name, comments, or color.

Open the Search panel by selecting the magnifying glass   icon in the upper-right corner of the Premiere app.

In the Search panel, select Marker from the drop-down menu.

Enter a keyword in the search bar. You can search using marker name, marker comments, or marker color.

Double-click a marker result to move the playhead to its location in the Timeline or Source Monitor. For range markers, the playhead moves to the beginning of the marked range.

Navigate among markers

Select the marker icon in the timeline.

To move to the next marker, select Marker > Go to Next Marker, or to move to the previous marker, select Marker > Go to Previous Marker.

Move a marker

To move a clip marker in a clip that’s in a sequence, open the clip in the Source Monitor.

Drag the marker icon in the Source Monitor time ruler.

Note

Dragging a marker in the Source Monitor or Program Monitor time ruler moves the corresponding marker icon in the Timeline panel.

To move a sequence marker, drag the marker in the Timeline panel or the Program Monitor time ruler.

Delete a marker

Move the playhead to the marker.

Select Marker > Clear Selected Marker.

To clear all markers, select Marker > Clear Markers.
