Issue

Illustrator sometimes doesn't launch after you apply the Illustrator CC 17.0.1 update. Adobe has released an update Illustrator CC 17.0.2 to fix this issue.

Solutions

Solution 1: Install the Illustrator CC 17.0.2 update.

Open the Creative Cloud app () from the menu bar, and allow installation of the available Illustrator update.

Solution 2: Reinstall Illustrator CC.

Note:

Apply this solution only if Solution 1 doesn't resolve the problem and Illustrator doesn't launch:

  • After the 17.0.1 update was applied, and,
  • The Mac-only update (17.0.2) has not been applied.

  1. Uninstall Illustrator.

  2. In the menu bar, click Creative Cloud ().

  3. Click Settings (), and then click Quit Creative Cloud.

  4. Restart Creative Cloud, and reinstall Illustrator CC from the Apps tab.

  5. When the Creative Cloud app prompts you, allow update 17.0.2 to be installed.
