Create Acrobat-only packages

Last updated on Aug 3, 2026

Learn how to create Acrobat-only deployment packages for organizations with Document Cloud entitlements.

Acrobat-only packages provide a deployment option for organizations with Document Cloud-only entitlements. Use Acrobat-only packages to deploy Acrobat across multiple devices without including Creative Cloud applications.

Before you begin

Packages cannot be deployed across different operating systems or architecture types.

Create separate packages for Windows 32-bit, Windows 64-bit, Windows ARM, macOS (Intel), and macOS (Apple Silicon) devices. Alternatively, use a macOS (Universal) package for both Intel and Apple Silicon devices.

Sign in to the Admin Console and select Packages > Packages.

Select Create a package.

Enter a package name.

Select the target platform from Choose a platform and the installation language from the Language dropdown menu.

Select Enable Remote Update Manager to run updates remotely on client machines with administrator privileges.

Select Create Package to start the build process.

The Packages page displays. You can check the build progress in the list of packages.

After the package build completes, select Download for the required package.

Tip

To download and distribute the package later, select the package name in the list of packages, then select Download in the right pane.

Select Save As when prompted, then choose a location on your computer to save the package file.

Note

If you are creating macOS packages, the Adobe Package Downloader is downloaded to your computer. Open and run it to complete the package download.

After downloading the package, use the Acrobat Customization Wizard to configure Acrobat features and preferences before organization-wide deployment.
