Remove permissions

Last updated on Aug 3, 2026

Revoke user access by removing permission items from product profiles.

Removing permissions from a product profile immediately limits user access. If Auto-include is enabled, turn it off before removing individual items.

Use the Admin Console to remove single permission items or clear entire sections.

Prerequisites

  • System Admin or Product Admin role
  • Access to the Admin Console at adminconsole.adobe.com
  • At least one product profile with assigned permissions

Remove specific permission items

Log in to the Admin Console and navigate to Products.

Select the product containing the profile you want to modify.

Select the product profile name, and then navigate to the Permissions tab.

Select the permission section containing the items you want to remove.

Select the Permissions section
Select the Permissions section.

Select the Remove icon next to each permission item you want to remove from the included list.

Select Save when you are done.

Note

If a permission section has Auto-include enabled, you must first turn off auto-include before you can remove individual items. Select the section, clear the Auto-include checkbox, and then remove specific items.

Remove all permissions from a section

In the Permissions tab of your product profile, select the permission section you want to clear.

Select Remove All in the upper-right corner of the included permissions list.

Select Save to confirm the changes.

Users lose access to removed features when they next sign in.

Copy permissions to a new profile

Create a new product profile with copied permissions to keep existing settings while making changes. This is handy for slight adjustments or testing without affecting current users.

After making changes in the Permissions tab, select Copy Permissions.

Select Continue when prompted to create a new profile.

Enter a name and description for the new product profile.

Select Next, then configure any additional services or quota settings, if applicable.

Select Done to create the profile with the copied permissions.

The new profile contains all the permissions from the original profile at the time of copying.
