Set maximum session life for orgs and groups

Last updated on Nov 6, 2026

Limit session exposure for high-risk users, such as admins or contractors, by requiring them to sign in more often.

Maximum session life controls how long users can stay signed in before they must sign in again. Your organization-level maximum session life applies to everyone by default. Group-based policies let you enforce a shorter session lifetime for specific user groups.

Org-level max session lifetime

Group-based policies let you enforce a shorter session lifetime for specific user groups. The organization-level setting remains the default. A group-specific value can override it only when it is shorter than the organization setting.

Assign a session lifetime to groups

Navigate to Max session life under Advanced settings in Adobe Admin Console.

Select Add user groups to add the groups you want to manage. You can add several groups in bulk.

Review each group's name and number of users.

Set the session lifetime for the selected groups.

Apply the policy.

Note

The group value is allowed only if it's shorter than the organization-level setting.

Edit a group's session lifetime

You can update group values individually or in bulk.

Select the groups whose session lifetime you want to change, then select Edit group-based session life. Filter the list to find specific groups.

Edit group-based session life.

Enter the new session lifetime.

Apply the change.

The new value replaces the organization-level value for the selected groups.

Revert a group to the organization policy

Reverting removes a group's override, so it follows the organization setting again.

Select the groups you want to revert.

Revert them to the organization-based policy.

Note

The group then follows the organization-level maximum session life. If no organization-level value is configured, the group has no group-specific limit.
