Customize packages from Adobe Templates
Use Adobe Templates as starting points to create custom deployment packages with your preferred apps and settings.
An Adobe Template provides boilerplate applications and configurations as defined by the template. You can create a package from scratch or use an Adobe Template that best matches your requirements as a starting point.
Optionally, add products from Creative Cloud or Document Cloud. You can also add Adobe Technical Communications Suite (TCS) products (Captivate, RoboHelp, FrameMaker, Presenter), though templates customized with TCS products offer fewer customization options than Creative Cloud templates.
Select Customize.
On the Configure screen, select or enable the required options and select Next.
- Platform (Windows only): Choose the processor support.
It's necessary to create separate packages for Windows 64-bit and Windows ARM devices. A package made for one architecture type, cannot be deployed on another.
- Language: Select the language in which you want to create the package.
- Use OS Locale: Enable this to create a package that deploys in the client machine's OS language. In which case, the OS language is the default fallback language in which the package is deployed.
Add or remove applications defined in the Adobe Template and select Next.
Optionally, filter the list of available applications:
- Latest versions: the latest version of all available applications.
- Long-term supported versions: Adobe's long-term supported versions.
- Beta apps: available beta apps. Learn more.
- Older versions: previous app versions that no longer receive security or feature updates.
(Not currently available for Windows ARM or Apple Silicon devices)
Search and select plugins to include in the package, then select Next. Optionally, select Show Compatible Plugins Only to display plugins compatible with the apps in the package. This filter doesn't appear if your package contains only the Creative Cloud desktop app. Select Selected Plugins to view your current selections.
A plugin's supporting application doesn't need to be in the same package. You can include plugins for apps already installed on your users' computers. If a computer doesn't have the targeted application, the plugin isn't installed.
On the Options screen, select the required Creative Cloud Desktop and select Next. options: Enable self-service install, Allow non-admins to update and install apps, Disable auto-update for end users, Enable self-service plugin install, Disable file syncing, Enable browser-based login, and Enable install of beta apps. Learn more about these options. Select the required Management options:
- Enable Remote Update Manager: let Remote Update Manager run the updater on the client with administrator privileges. Learn more.
- Redirect to the internal update server and install the package to the custom install directory; both are defined in Packages > Preferences. Learn more.
- (Not currently available for Windows ARM or Apple Silicon) Create a folder for extensions and include the UPIA command-line tool: creates a subfolder for extensions to install with the package. Learn more.
- Include Adobe Asset Link (available if the above is enabled): connects Adobe Experience Manager Assets with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Requires AEM Assets and is available for Creative Cloud for enterprise customers only. Learn more.
A confirmation message shows the download availability window if the build succeeds.
To check the remaining download time later, select Search details for the package. Products listed in the summary drawer may show older versions than what was available during customization, since directly downloadable templates take time to sign and notarize.
To download later, select the View Details icon for a package and select Download in Package details.
The Adobe Package Downloader downloads automatically for macOS packages. Run it to complete the download. If your package includes Captivate 2017 or Presenter (any version), uninstall those versions on end-user machines before deploying this package.
