About manual package deployment

Adobe packages created in the Adobe Admin Console can be distributed to end-user devices using different deployment methods. After you have created and downloaded the package to your computer, you can distribute and install the package by one of the following methods:

  • Direct installation using the setup file
  • Command line installation
  • Third-party deployment tools

Install with the setup file on Windows

Go to the Build folder inside your downloaded package.

Double-click the setup.exe file to begin installation.

Note

If you deploy a package containing Acrobat using the MSI file instead of setup.exe, Acrobat isn't installed.

Install with the setup file on macOS

For flat packages

Prepare these packages as described in Create flat packages.

Double-click the PKG file to begin installation.

For non-flat packages

Double-click the PKG file in the package's Build folder.

Deselect Create flat package in the package creation workflow.

Open the Info.plist file at [package]/Build/xyz_install.pkg/Contents/Info.plist

Add the following entry with your desired path in the string tag to set a custom installation directory: <key>IFPkgFlagDefaultLocation</key>

<string>[Path of install directory]</string>

Add the following entry to specify the installation language

<key>InstallLanguage</key>

<string>en_GB</string>

Double-click the PKG file.

Install from the command line on Windows

Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges.

Go to the folder containing setup.exe.

Run the following command: setup.exe --silent --ADOBEINSTALLDIR="C:\InstallDir" --INSTALLLANGUAGE=fr_CA.

Replace the directory path and language code with your desired values.

Note
