Add permissions to a product profile

Last updated on Aug 3, 2026

Select permission items from sections to grant users access to specific features.

Product profiles define which features users can access in Adobe products. Adding permission items defines the access level for everyone assigned to that profile.

In the Admin Console, permissions are grouped into sections that reflect each product’s features. Users automatically inherit all permissions from the profile they’re assigned.

Permission items give you additional control over tools, data, and actions. For example, in Adobe Target you might create profiles for observers, editors, and approvers, each tailored to their role.

Prerequisites

  • Admin Console access through an Enterprise or Education offering
  • System Admin or Product Admin role
  • Existing product profile for the product you want to configure
  • Knowledge of which features and capabilities your users need

Add permission items to a profile

Sign in to the Admin Console and open Products.

Select the product whose profile you want to configure.

Select the product profile name to open its details, then select the Permissions tab.

Select individual permission items to add them to the Included list or use the search box to find specific items.

Select Save to apply your changes.

The Permissions tab shows the number of permission items included from each section. After saving, users in this profile will immediately gain access to the newly added permissions when they next sign in to the product.

Automatically include current and future permissions

In the Permissions tab of your product profile, select a permission section.

Select Auto-include to add all current permission items in this section and automatically include any new items Adobe adds to this section in the future.

Select the Auto-include toggle to automatically include permission items.
Select the Auto-include toggle.

Select Save to apply the setting.

Note

When you enable Auto-include for a section, you don't need to manually return to the profile to add new permission items introduced in product updates. This option works well for trusted user groups who should always have full access to a feature area.

The Permissions tab will indicate which sections have Auto-include enabled. You can turn off this setting at any time by returning to the section and deselecting the Auto-include option.
