Product access requests overview

Understand how users can request Adobe products and how administrators manage those requests.

Product access requests let users obtain Adobe products directly in the app. Administrators review and approve these requests in the Admin Console.

This reduces administrative overhead while giving users faster access. It also provides administrators with visibility into product demand across their organization.

Product requests process

Users can submit requests for Adobe products or services. The request includes the user's name, the product they need, and a business justification for the access request.

System Administrators receive email notifications for new requests. They can review them in the Admin Console at Products > Product access automation > Product requests. For each request, administrators can view available licenses and applicable product profiles, and decide whether to approve or deny access.

Requests remain in the queue for 60 days. Without administrator action, requests automatically expire, and users can resubmit with updated justification. Users receive email notifications when their requests are approved, denied, or approaching expiration.

Where users can request access

Product requests can be submitted from multiple entry points across the Adobe ecosystem. Users can submit requests from the Creative Cloud desktop app, Creative Cloud on the web (desktop only), Adobe Stock, Adobe Acrobat Sign, Adobe Express, Adobe Firefly, Developer Console, and Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant.

For products that don't support in-app requests, such as Acrobat Sign or Adobe Analytics, administrators can create automatic assignment rules that generate Product Access URLs. Users who follow these URLs receive immediate access to specific products without manual approval, simplifying access for commonly requested tools.

Availability and eligibility

Product requests are automatically enabled for organizations using Adobe storage for business, which is being rolled out globally in phases. This feature is available to Enterprise, Teams, and eligible Education organizations.

System Administrators can turn off product requests at any time in the Admin Console settings. When disabled, users can no longer submit new requests, though administrators retain access to review and respond to previously submitted requests.

Requests for unavailable products

Users can request any Adobe product listed in the applications they use to submit requests, regardless of whether the organization currently owns licenses for that product. This shows administrators unmet user needs and helps inform purchasing decisions.

When a user requests a product the organization hasn't purchased, the request appears in the Admin Console with an indicator showing the product is unavailable. Administrators with Teams or VIP Marketplace contracts can purchase additional licenses directly. Organizations with Enterprise plans can approve requests that exceed purchased license counts, with additional licenses billed later, or contact their Adobe Account Manager to add new products to their contract.

Relationship to automatic assignment rules

Automatic assignment rules and product requests are complementary tools. Rules grant immediate access based on criteria like domain or group membership. Requests let users initiate access with admin approval. When both are enabled, rules override requests for immediate access.

Multiple requests and bundling

Users may submit requests for multiple products as their needs evolve. When the same user has multiple pending requests, the Admin Console bundles them into a single queue item for efficient review. Administrators can select which requests to approve individually, rather than responding to all at once, enabling nuanced decision-making based on available licenses and business priorities.
