When you try to install Adobe Reader, the installer returns the following error message:
"Internal error 2753 Updater.api_NON_OPT" or a version of this error message, and then quits.
You sometimes also see the error message during the process of removing a previous version of Adobe Reader.
If the Add/Remove Programs control panel does not let you remove the application, try to repair the Reader installation by reinstalling the same Reader version first.
Disclaimer: The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Adobe does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. Adobe recommends that you have experience editing system files before you modify the registry. Make sure to back up the registry before modifying it. Important: Verify that the correct registry key is selected. When viewing a path of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\68AB67CA330100007706000000000030, make sure that only the 68AB67CA330100007706000000000030 is selected. If the name does not match exactly, do not select the item.
The 2753 error can appear when a (previous) installation of Adobe Reader has become corrupt. It also occurs when Adobe Reader-related entries in the registry become corrupt, prompting the installation to get interrupted.
