Acrobat's Fill & Sign tool makes it easy to complete and share PDF forms. Whether you're working with interactive forms that have pre-defined fields or flat forms that require manual entry, Acrobat provides all the tools you need to fill out and sign your documents efficiently.
Types of PDF forms
Interactive forms
Interactive forms contain fields that you can easily select and fill in. Acrobat automatically detects these fields, such as text fields, checkboxes, and radio buttons, to streamline the filling process.
Flat forms
Flat forms lack interactive fields and resemble scanned paper forms. Use the Fill & Sign tool to manually add text and symbols anywhere on these forms.
Steps to fill and sign a PDF form
To fill out and sign a PDF form, follow these steps:

Fill text fields by selecting them in the Fill and Sign section of the tool panel. Select the field you want to fill. Enter your text in the text box that appears, adjust the position, and modify the text size or color as needed.

Fill the radio button fields by hovering over the field. The default checkmark or symbol will appear, and you can select to enter it. Change symbols via the menu if needed.

Add signature and initials by creating them in the quick action toolbar if not already done. Place your signature or initials on the form, and adjust their size and position as required. Once saved, you cannot edit the form.
