Quit Acrobat or Acrobat Reader application if it's already running.
Starting with February 2021 release, 64-bit versions of Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard, and Acrobat Pro on Windows are available to download for selected geographies. Now, the 64-bit version of Acrobat Reader is available to download for all locales:

If you have installed the 32-bit Acrobat Reader application, you will be automatically upgraded to the 64-bit version of Acrobat Reader gradually. This upgrade is silent and currently applicable to a limited number of users. You are excluded from the automatic upgrade to 64-bit if you do any of the following:
- Use an Enterprise or Federated ID to sign in to Acrobat Reader.
- Customize Acrobat Reader using the Acrobat Customization Wizard and install it.
- Install third-party plugins.
- Disable the automatic updates in Acrobat Reader.
How to identify if Acrobat 64-bit or Acrobat Reader 64-bit is installed
The 64-bit application is a unified application for Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat. If you have installed Acrobat Reader 64-bit and you purchase an Acrobat subscription, the Acrobat Reader 64-bit application will upgrade to become a fully functional Acrobat 64-bit application. To identify the installed application, do the following:

In Start > Search, type RegEdit and press Enter. The Registry Editor is displayed.

Browse to the following registry locationHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Installer\, and check the value of the key SCAPackageLevel.
- If the value of SCAPackageLevel is 1, the installed application is Acrobat Reader.
- If the value of SCAPackageLevel is greater than 1, the installed application is Acrobat.
How to stop automatic upgrade of Acrobat Reader 32-bit to Acrobat Reader 64-bit
To stop the Acrobat Reader 32-bit application from automatically upgrading to the 64-bit version, create the following registry key before the first launch of the application:

In Start > Search, type RegEdit and press Enter. The Registry Editor is displayed.

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown.

Create the following key:
Key: bUpdateToSingleApp
Data type: REG_DWORD
Default Value: 0

Close Registry Editor.
