Migrate your content from Adobe ID account to your new enterprise account.

Note:

We're updating organizations (teams or enterprises) to the Enterprise storage model to enable enterprise storage and other enterprise-level features for Adobe ID users.

You'll be notified when your organization is scheduled for the update. After the update, the Adobe ID users are moved to enterprise storage, and the organization directly controls their business profiles.

Introduction

Storage is a core component of the cloud offering, which ensures that you can always access your content and related services. It allows you to manage your Creative Cloud assets and Document Cloud assets. With the Creative Cloud assets, you can even enable collaboration and sharing among users. Creative Cloud also helps you sync your content to your desktop. All content created or uploaded by you is tied to your account.

You can migrate content for any one of the following reasons:

  • When switching from an Adobe ID to an Enterprise/Federated ID account. For more information, see Manage identity types.
  • Your organization moves from teams plan to an enterprise plan. Hence, your applications get associated with your new enterprise account.

Adobe provides you an automated process to migrate your content from your old Adobe ID account to your new Enterprise/Federated ID account. This way, you can continue working on your content.

When your IT admin creates your Enterprise/Federated ID account, you receive an email. The email indicates that you can migrate your content to your new Enterprise/Federated ID account. Before you migrate your content, ensure that you have the latest version of the Creative Cloud desktop app, and complete the pre-migration tasks.

Note:

If your Creative Cloud plan only has Adobe Stock entitlement, your content won't be migrated automatically due to licensing differences between individual and enterprise Adobe Stock agreements.

Note:

You can automatically migrate content only if you have subscribed to a Creative Cloud All Apps plan. Automatic migration isn't applicable for plans, such as Acrobat Single App plan.

Pre-migration tasks

Asset Migration is an automated process. When you initiate this process all the supported content that is currently stored in your Adobe ID account is migrated to your Enterprise/Federated ID account.

Before you initiate the Asset migration process, sign in to your Adobe ID account to complete the following pre-migration tasks.

Manage unsaved content

To ensure that you do not lose any work, save your work and sync your content to the cloud. Then, sign out of your Adobe ID account from the device you want to initiate Asset Migration. The migration process automatically signs you out of all your other devices, if any.

Manage personal content

The process migrates all supported content from your Adobe ID account. So, if you have any personal content in your account, remove that content from your current Adobe ID account before you initiate the migration process.

Note:

See the Frequently Asked Questions for the list of supported content.

Migrate content

After you complete the pre-migration tasks, follow the below steps to migrate your content from your Adobe ID account to your Enterprise/Federated ID account.

  1. To get started, click Sign in to your account in the email.

  2. Choose the Enterprise ID account type.

    Note:

You can also start the migration process from Creative Cloud for desktop, Creative Cloud Files, Document Cloud Files, or any Adobe Desktop application. To start the process, sign out of your Adobe ID account and then sign back in to the new Enterprise/Federated ID account.

  3. You are prompted to sign in with your Enterprise ID or Federated ID credentials.

If you are signing in to your enterprise account for the first time, then set the password for your new account.

    Note:

For Federated ID account, sign in with your SSO credentials.

  4. After you sign in to the new Enterprise/Federated ID account for the first time, you see the Asset Migration Consent page before you can access your account.

If you have not completed the pre-migration steps, click Go Back to Sign in. Then sign in with your Adobe ID and complete the pre-migration steps. The next time you sign in to your Enterprise/Federated ID account, you are prompted with the Asset Migration Consent page again.

Provide Adobe your consent to migrate your content. See the Frequently Asked Questions for details on why Adobe needs your consent to migrate your content.

To start the migration, select Yes, I want Adobe to migrate my content and click Continue.

Or, if you do not want to migrate your content, select No, I want to move my content manually later and click Continue. To move your content manually later, see Migrate Assets.

    Caution:

If you choose to proceed without migrating your content, you are not prompted with this option again. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more details.

  5. Once you provide your consent, the Asset Migration process begins.

    Caution:

While the Asset Migration is in process, do not perform any changes on the content.

  6. After the migration completes successfully, a success message is displayed, and you are signed in to your Enterprise/Federated ID account.

The migrated content is now available in your new Enterprise/Federated ID account.

  7. If an error is encountered in the migration process, you are prompted with the below message. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more details.

  8. To return to the sign-in screen, click Cancel and Go Back to Sign in.

    When you sign in again:

    • If the interruption occurred before the migration was started, then you are taken to the Asset Migration Consent page.
    • If the interruption occurred after the migration was completed, you will be directly signed into your new Enterprise/Federated ID account.
    • If you still experience any error, contact your organization IT Admin for support.
  9. After Asset Migration is completed, to take control of your personal Adobe ID account:

    1. Sign in with your Adobe ID account.
    2. Change your Adobe ID with your personal email address.
    3. Change your existing password.
