To control variations in the shape of Eraser tool, select any of the options from the dropdown menu:

  • Fixed: Keeps the Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool constant, regardless of stylus pressure or other input.
  • Random: Applies random variations to Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool. Use the Variation field to specify the range within which the brush characteristic can vary. For example, the Size of 15 with the Variation of 5 will randomly vary between 10 and 20.
  • Pressure: Adjusts Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool based on stylus pressure. Use with Size option on a graphics tablet. Use the Variation field to set how much the brush property changes from its original value. For example, if Roundness is 75% with a 25% Variation, the stroke varies between 50% and 100%. Lighter pressure creates more angular strokes.
  • Stylus Wheel: Controls the Size using the stylus wheel.
  • Tilt: Alters the Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool based on the tilt of the stylus. Use the Tilt option with Roundness on a graphics tablet that can detect the direction in which the stylus is tilted.
  • Bearing: Adjusts Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool based on the pressure of a drawing stylus. Use the option to control the angle of calligraphic brushes on a graphics tablet that supports pen tilt detection.
  • Rotation: Changes the Angle, Roundness, or Size of the tool based on how the stylus pen tip is rotated. Use the option to adjust the angle of calligraphic brushes using a stylus that supports rotation input.
