Type or paste your text. When the text overflows the first object, Overflow text will appear.

Select the Overflow text . Your cursor will change to Loaded text .

Right-click inside the second object where you want the text to continue. The text will flow from the first object into the second.

To view the threads you created, select View > Show Text Threads and select a linked object.

Thread text to an object

Create any shape and enter text into it.

Select the Type tool and select the out port at the bottom of the text frame. Your cursor will change to Loaded text .

Do one of the following to thread the text to another object:

  • To thread to a single object: Select the path of the object. The text will flow into that shape.
  • To thread to multiple objects: Hold Shift and select all the objects you want to thread. Then choose Type > Threaded Text > Create.

The text will now flow between the threaded objects. You can edit the text or adjust the shapes, and the text will reflow automatically.
