Learn how to precisely erase specific segments of a path using the Path Eraser tool or a Wacom stylus.

Erase parts of a path using the Path Eraser tool

Select the path of an object using the Selection tool.

Select the Path Eraser tool.

Drag the flat end of the Path Eraser tool along the path segment you want to erase.

Erase parts of a path using a stylus pen

The eraser on a Wacom stylus pen can erase any part of your artwork, including paths, compound paths, clipping paths, and paths inside Live Paint groups.

Flip the stylus pen to activate the Eraser tool.

Drag across the area using the back side of the pen to erase paths.

Double-click the Eraser tool to open the Eraser Tool Options dialog box.

In the Eraser Tool Options dialog box, select the Pressure from the dropdown menu and specify the value.

Select Pressure from the dropdown menu and use the stylus pen to increase the width of the erased path.

Apply more pressure with your stylus to increase the width of the eraser stroke.

Flip the pen back to reactivate the previous tool you were using.
