Set artboard views

Learn how to activate, fit, or customize artboard views and control artboard boundaries in Adobe Illustrator.

Activate an artboard

Select the Artboard tool from the Tools panel.

Select the artboard you want to activate.

The Tools panel shows the highlighted Artboard tool, which is used to select an artboard with artwork for further editing.
Double-click the Artboard tool to customize the width and height of the artboard.

Fit an artboard

Select the Artboard tool from the Tools panel.

Select the artboard you want to fit.

Select View > Fit Artboard in Window.

View the print page boundary

Select an artboard using the Artboard tool from the Tools panel.

Select View > Show Print Tiling.

Hide artboard boundaries

Select the Artboard tool from the Tools panel.

Select the artboard you want to activate.

Select View > Hide Artboards

Note

The document must contain at least two artboards to select the Hide Artboards option.
