Change inner and outer radii of stars

Last updated on Sep 11, 2025

Learn how to change inner and outer radius of stars.

Select the Star tool from the tool panel.

Select the desired location on the artboard to create the shape.

Specify Radius 1, Radius 2, and Points in the Star dialog box, and then select OK.

To adjust the inner or outer radius of a star shape, ensure View > Show Bounding Box is enabled, and the on-screen control widgets setting is set to Show Shape Widgets in the Control panel.

Drag the inner radius widget to modify a star’s inner points or the outer radius widget to adjust a star’s outer points. You can also select Shape in the Control panel and change the value of R1 for outer points and R2 for inner points for precision.

Tip

You can use the Properties or Transform panels to adjust shape properties more precisely.
