Adjust anchor points, handle, and bounding box settingsLearn how to set preferences on anchor points, handles, and bounding boxes.

Select Edit > Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display (Windows) or Illustrator > Settings > Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display (macOS).

The Edit menu is open with highlighted Selection & Anchor Display, under Preferences.
Change the visibility of anchor points, handles, and bounding boxes in Selection & Anchor Display under Preferences.

Under Anchor Points, Handle, and Bounding Box Display, adjust any of the following setting:

  • Size: Adjust the slider to change the display size of anchor points, handles, and bounding boxes.
  • Handle Style: Choose how direction points (handle end points) are displayed either as solid blue circles or white circles.
  • Highlight anchors on mouse over: Use this option to highlight the anchor point located directly under the mouse cursor.
  • Show handles when multiple anchors are selected: Displays direction lines on all selected anchor points when you use the Direct Selection tool or Group Selection tool to select an object. If disabled, handles appear only for individual anchor points or selected curve segments.
  • Hide Corner Widget for angles greater than: Select the degree, greater than which the corner widgets will disappear
  • Enable Rubber Band for: Select Pen Tool or Curvature Tool to display a preview of their path you wish to create.
