Learn how to create 3D objects in Adobe Illustrator to bring depth and dimension to your vector designs.
Create a 3D object by extruding
Extruding extends a 2D object along the object’s z-axis to add depth to the object. For example, if you extrude a 2D ellipse, it becomes a cylinder.

Select More Options to view the complete list of options, or Fewer Options to hide the extra options.

You can customize Position, Extrude & Bevel, and Surface options as per your requirements.

The object’s axis always lies perpendicular to the object’s front surface and moves relative to the object if the object is rotated in the 3D Options dialog box.
Create a 3D object by revolving
Revolving sweeps a path around the global Y axis to create a 3D object. Since the revolve axis is fixed vertically, the path should represent half of the object's profile in a vertical, front-facing position. You can adjust the object's orientation in the effect dialog box.
When the effect is applied to multiple objects individually, each revolves around its own axis in separate 3D space. However, applying the effect to a group or layer revolves all objects around a shared axis.
