Align text vertically
Select Type > Type Orientation > Vertical.
Select Type > Area Type Options.
In the Area Type Options dialog box, select one of the given Vertical alignment options as needed:
- Right: Aligns text to the right of the frame.
- Center: Aligns text to the center of the frame.
- Left: Aligns text to the left of the frame.
- Justify: Distributes text evenly from top to bottom of the frame.
Alternatively, you can select the vertical alignment options in the Properties or Control panel.
Align objects with glyph bounds
Select Window > Align.
In the Align panel, select More Options > Align to Glyph Bounds > Area Text.
You can even select Point Text option under the Align to Glyph Bounds dropdown menu depending on the text type.
Select the object and text using the Selection tool.
Select the desired alignment option from the Align Objects section in the Align panel.
