Errors occur in Photoshop when you use a Wacom tablet

One of the following issues occurs when you use a Wacom tablet in Photoshop:

  • Menus, panels, or dialog boxes turn white and become unresponsive
  • Keyboard shortcuts stop working
  • Lasso tool selections close prematurely and unexpectedly
  • Photoshop becomes unresponsive

Solution 1: Install Mac OS updates

  1. From the Apple menu, choose Software Update.

  2. Install Mac OS X Update 10.9.3 or later.

  3. Restart your computer.

Solution 2: Install a plug-in to fix the problem

Note: This solution is for Photoshop CC (2013) and CS6 only.

  1. Close Photoshop and download the following file to a location you can easily find.


  2. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to //Applications/Adobe Photoshop [Version]/Plug-ins/

  3. You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching Photoshop and choosing Help > System Info.

    Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog box and look for the plug-in name.
