Expand images and add generative content with Generative Expand   as part of the Crop tool  workflow.

Extend the canvas, select Generate in the Contextual Task Bar, and let Generative Expand fill the empty space with generated content that blends with your image.

Generative Expand is now powered by the latest Adobe Firefly Image Model, which yields results with greatly improved photorealistic quality, has a better understanding of complex prompts, and generates more variety in results, so you can explore different directions.

  1. Select Crop tool from the toolbar and drag the corner or edge handles outward to set your desired canvas size.

  2. Select Generative Expand from the Contextual Task Bar that appears.

  3. (Optional) Type a description of what you want to see created into the prompt text-entry box.

  4. Select Generate and choose from the Variations that appear in the Properties panel. The generated content will appear in a new layer.

  5. (Optional) To generate additional variations, modify the text prompt and select Generate in the Properties panel.
