Do you need to be connected to the internet to use Generative Fill and Generative Expand in Photoshop?

Yes, in order to use generative AI in Photoshop at this time, you need to be connected to the internet.

Which languages and regions are Generative Fill and Generative Expand available in?

Generative AI features are available in the Photoshop desktop app and on the web wherever Adobe provides services. Photoshop is bringing the power of generative AI to global audiences by supporting over 100 languages for text prompt inputs. It is not available for users in China. 

Can users add images from Creative Cloud, Adobe Stock, the public domain, web, or other AI image generators? 

Generative Fill and Generative Expand work on any document you can open in Photoshop.

Users can open and import assets, bring them into Photoshop, then use Generative Fill to add or remove parts of an image and Generative Expand to expand an image. Each time you select Generate, a new Generative Layer is created. With the introduction of this new layer, a user must then save as a PSD or other layered file type to preserve their edits. There are multiple ways that you could end up with a PSD or other layered file type and a simple "Save" would preserve the layer. Not need Save As or Save a Copy.
