Learn how to open and use available Adobe Stock templates to start your designs quickly in Adobe Illustrator.
Use Adobe Stock templates in Illustrator
In the New Document dialog box, select the category tab such as Recent, Saved, Mobile, Web, Print, Branding, Social, Art & Illustration, Film & Video, or Free Templates.
In the Templates section, select a template.
To view the preview of the template you want to license, select See Preview.
Select Download to license the template. The Adobe Stock dialog box appears that processes and licenses the free template.
Select Open once the template is downloaded to work on it.
Tip
If the fonts are missing, the Missing Fonts dialog box displays. You can select Add Fonts or Replace Fonts to open the template.
To access the downloaded templates, follow these steps:
- Select Window > Libraries.
- In the Libraries panel, select Stock Templates.
- Right-click the template, and then select Open new document to access the template and work on it.
Note
Illustrator templates use the .ait extension but open as .ai files. Any changes made to the .ai version will not affect the original .ait template.

Find and use templates from Adobe Stock website
In the New Document dialog box, type the name of the template in the Find more templates on Adobe Stock field.
Select Go to browse the collection of available templates on the Adobe Stock website.
Select the image, and then select Download to license and download the template or select Buy to pay and license the template. The template automatically saves in your default library or Adobe Stock library.
To open the template in Illustrator, follow these steps:
- Select Window > Libraries.
- In the Libraries panel, select the name of your default library or Adobe Stock to view the licensed templates.
- Right-click the template and select Open new document to start working on it.
