Learn how to use the Color Picker dialog box to create, manage, and apply Fill and Stroke colors.
The Color Picker lets you select the fill or stroke color for an object in multiple ways. Double-click the Fill and Stroke tool to access the Color Picker dialog box.

Color field |
Displays the visual area for selecting colors. |
|
Color marker |
Indicates the color selected in the color field. |
|
Color Picker |
Samples color from anywhere on the canvas. |
|
HSB values |
Shows the hue, saturation, and brightness components of a color. |
|
RGB values |
Defines the colors based on red, green, and blue components. |
|
New color |
Shows the color currently selected. |
|
Original color |
Displays the current color applied to the selected object before any changes were made. |
|
Hexadecimal color value |
Denotes the six-digit code of the color. |
|
Color spectrum |
Displays the color range that you can adjust using the slider. |
|
CMYK values |
Denotes the cyan, magenta, yellow, and key values of the color. |

Color Swatches |
Displays predefined or custom colors from the Swatches panel for quick selection without using sliders or input fields. |

Out of Gamut Warning |
Indicates the selected color is outside the printable range of CMYK printers. |
|
In Gamut Color |
Indicates the color is safe for CMYK printing. Select to correct the color for accurate printing. |
|
Out of Web Color Warning |
Indicates a non-web-safe color that may display inconsistently in browsers. Select to adjust to the nearest web-safe color. |

In Web Color |
Indicates a web-safe color that displays consistently across browsers. Select to correct a non-web-safe color. |
|
Only Web Colors |
Limits color selection to web-safe colors only. |
