Learn how to change the color palette of your artwork using the options in the Recolor dialog box.

Recolor using Generative Recolor

Enter text prompts in Generative Recolor to recolor your artwork.

Recolor using Color Library

You can select Document Swatches, a Swatch Group, or any of the curated color sets to recolor your artwork.

Select the artwork on the canvas.

Select Edit Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork. The Recolor dialog appears.

In the Recolor dialog, select a color library from the Color Library dropdown.

Recolor using Color Theme Picker

You can use Color Theme Picker to extract a color palette from one or more images or vector objects on the canvas, and apply it to recolor your artwork.

Select the artwork on the canvas.

Select Edit Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork. The Recolor dialog appears.

In the Recolor dialog, select Color Theme Picker.

Do any of the following based on your requirement:

  • To pick the full color palette from an object, click it.
  • To pick a color palette from a specific area of an object, drag to draw a marquee around it.
  • To pick colors from more than one object, hold down Shift and click the objects or draw marquees around them.

Recolor using color wheel

The color wheel displays color stops that represent all the colors in the selected artwork. You can refine the colors by adjusting the color stops.

Select the artwork on the canvas.

Select Edit Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork. The Recolor dialog appears.

To adjust a color, use its color stop in one of these ways:

  • Drag the color stop.
  • Double-click the color stop to open Color Picker, and then pick a color.
  • Right-click the color stop, select Select Shade, and then pick a shade.

To set a color as base color, right-click the color stop, and then select Set as Base Color.

To remove a color, right-click the color stop, and then select Remove Color.

To add a new color stop for a color, right-click the area in the color wheel that contains that color, and then select Add New Color.

Break or retain the color harmony, as required:

  • To break the harmony and move the color stops individually, select .
  • To retain the harmony and move the color stops together, select .
