Add artworks to the 3D panel

Learn to add one or more artworks as graphics and save them as symbols you can use again.

Select the object in your document that you want to add as a graphic.

Drag an object onto the 3D and Materials panel and drop it. Hold the Alt key (Windows) or option key (macOS) while dragging to add multiple objects. They are added together as one graphic.

The Illustrator artwork is displaying a single object added to the 3D and Materials panel as a graphic. The same graphic is also appearing in the Symbols panel as a symbol, ready for reuse in future projects.
View the object added as a graphic in the 3D and Symbols panels.

The graphic appears in the Graphics section of the 3D and Materials panel and is saved as a Symbol in the Symbols panel, ready to reuse in other 3D projects.


Add multiple graphics from a single artwork

Select artwork that contains multiple objects.

In the 3D and Materials panel, select the icon in the lower-right corner of the 3D and Materials panel.

Choose Add as Multiple Graphics from the menu.

Each object in the artwork is added as a separate graphic and saved as a Symbol in the Symbols panel, ready to reuse.

The Illustrator artwork is displaying multiple objects added to the 3D and Materials panel as graphics. The same graphics are also appearing in the Symbols panel as symbols, ready for reuse in future projects.
