Learn how to adjust media element dimensions in Adobe InDesign for accurate video display.

Adjust media element dimensions in InDesign to control how videos appear in Interactive PDFs. Movie objects, poster images, and frames can be resized independently, but the movie object defines the final playback size. For consistent results, keep poster and movie dimensions aligned. Movies appear on the topmost layer in exported PDFs, so overlapping objects display beneath them.

Select the movie frame on your page.

To resize the movie object, poster, and frame together proportionally, select the Scale tool, then Shift-drag any corner handle of the frame.

To resize only the frame boundary without affecting the movie or poster, select the Selection tool, then drag any corner handle.

To resize the poster or movie object independently, use the Direct Selection tool, then switch to the Selection tool, and drag a corner handle.

Use Object > Fitting commands to resize a poster within a frame if necessary.
