Invite collaborators to edit cloud documents

Last updated on Jun 2, 2026

Learn how to use sharing permissions in Adobe InDesign to grant editing access to documents stored in Creative Cloud.

Invite team members to edit when you want specific collaborators to make changes to an InDesign cloud document. Unlike Share for Review, which collects feedback, this workflow lets stakeholders edit the document directly.

Invite collaborators from InDesign

Open your InDesign cloud document or create a new one.

Select File > Invite to edit.

Enter an Adobe email address or name in the Add people or groups field.

From the Who has access menu, select a permission level from the following:

  • Only invited people can access : Private link requiring email invitation.
  • Everyone at <Organization> can view : Link accessible to anyone at the organization.
  • Anyone with the link can view : Public link that anyone can view.

Select Copy to share the link with stakeholders.

Invite collaborators from Creative Cloud

Open the Creative Cloud desktop application and select Files > Files .

You can also navigate to Files > Your files on the Creative Cloud website.

Right-click the InDesign cloud document and select Share.

Enter the Adobe email address or the name of your collaborator.

Select Invite to edit.

Caution

Collaborators added through InCopy on the web (Beta) receive view-only access by default and can't be upgraded to editing access.
